Here at DashTickets, I’m always on the hunt for new online casinos in New Zealand – and I do my best to try and review as many sites as possible. This allows me to show you which to sign-up at – and which to avoid!
Today, I’m reviewing Billy Bets, a brand that first appeared back in July 2024. So, while they’re still a relatively new brand, they have managed to build themselves a fairly impressive resume since then – and they’re owned and operated by NovaForge Ltd.
The site operates under a Comoros (Anjouan/AOFA) licence, and they’ve been quick to expand, now offering some 7,000+ slots, a fully-integrated sportsbook, and both fiat and crypto payment methods. Read my review to learn more about them.
My Playing Experience at Billy Bets Casino NZ
| Timing | 3 hours total |
| Registration | Around 30 seconds – very straightforward form |
| KYC | Identity verification is required before a withdrawal can be made, with the casino stating it takes 24 to 48 hours |
| Support | Email, Live chat |
| Playing time | 2.5 hours on slots and a few live tables |
| Deposit and withdrawal | Deposited NZ$50 via USDT |
Whenever I review a casino here at DashTickets, I sign up and actually play at the site – so, of course, that’s exactly what I did with BillyBets Casino. First impressions were solid, even if the site does look a little dated; I think it’s a deliberate design-choice, however. Aside from this, it’s easy to navigate around the casino lobby, the promotions page, and the sportsbook, and I like that everything sits in one account – so, if you’re like me and have the occasional sports bet, you can do so under one account – and one balance.
Registration took maybe 20 or 30 seconds. I was just asked for my email address, password, and then, on the next screen, some basic personal information. I selected New Zealand as my country and NZD as my currency, agreed to the T&Cs, and that was it. I received a verification email, and my account was fully-opened – less than 2 minutes in total.
Now, while the payment method selection is solid, the NZ$40 minimum deposit is the one thing I’d flag here. It’s not this high for all payment methods, but it is for a lot of them – and this is going to price-out quite a few lower-staking players I reckon.
As mentioned, I deposited NZ$50 using USDT, and I decided to claim the welcome bonus; a 100% match on my first deposit + 200 free spins. One thing to know: the free spins aren’t all delivered at once, so you actually get 20 per day for 10 days. You need to actively claim each batch, too, and you only have 24 hours to do so – or they expire. That’s a bit of a pain, and I’d rather they were just credited all at once. That said, the spins I did get worked perfectly, and the games themselves loaded quickly with no lag.
The game library is solid, too. I spent most of my time in the pokies section, and there’s a huge selection to choose from – hosted by well over 100 providers. I jumped into some Evolution live tables too, and the streaming quality was excellent. Lightning Roulette and a few blackjack tables – they all ran perfectly, professional dealers, responsive chat.
Unfortunately, as seems to be all-too-often the case with me (and my rotten luck), I didn’t manage to make a withdrawal; Play’n GO’s Moon Princess was suggested to me, and I couldn’t resist having a play! (That didn’t go well.)
Still, my overall experience at BillyBets Casino was solid. Yes, it’s not the most modern-looking online casino in the world, but get past that – and it’s a superb, functional, and responsive site.

Bonuses at Billy Bets Casino Online Casino NZ
Billy Bets comes out with a fairly generous welcome bonus – and you can claim a 100% match up to NZ$1,000 + 200 free spins. The ongoing promotions aren’t as generous as what I see at some casinos, but there’s enough to go around – and it’s definitely not the worst selection I’ve seen.
Welcome Bonus
New players at Billy Bets can claim a 100% match bonus on their first deposit, up to a maximum of NZ$1,000 + 200 free spins. The minimum deposit to trigger this is NZ$40, and the bonus funds carry a 35x wagering requirement – applied to the total of deposit + bonus. Any winnings from the free spins carry a 40x wagering requirement.
The bonus and free spins must be used within 10 days of being issued. As I pointed out above, the free spins are released in batches of 20 per day for 10 days, so you have to manually claim every batch within 24 hours of them becomming available.
Deposits via Skrill or Neteller don’t qualify for this offer, and the casino’s standard terms and conditions apply, too.
Weekly Reload 50 Free Spins
Every week, between Monday and Thursday, BillyBets runs a promotion where you can claim 50 Free Spins. Simply make a deposit of at least NZ$40, and you’ll automatically receive 50 free spins to use on selected pokies! The wagering requirements are a little higher, at 40x, but it’s a decent little promo if you’re going to deposit anyway.
BillyBets Casino VIP Programme
BillyBets also runs a VIP loyalty programme, and you start to earn points from your first deposit! As you climb tiers, you gain access to better cashback rates, higher withdrawal limits, and personalised promotions, and there’s also a personal VIP manager available to you.
Unfortunately, from the “VIP” page, I couldn’t find much specific information, and BillyBets keeps things a little vague. I suspect it works like pretty much every loyalty programme out there, however, as I can see “Level 1” at the top of the screen, and could browse up to Level 5 – so it’s a points-based system, at least.
Casino Games You Can Play at Billy Bets Casino NZ
Billy Bets has one of the bigger game libraries I’ve seen, and the lobby includes more than 7,000 different games – from over 100 software providers! You’ll find a well-organised lobby with categories for Slots, Table Games, Live Casino, Jackpots, and Crash Games, and a top games and new releases section.
Below, I’ll walk you through some of the main games categories you’ll find at the site – as well as some things I noticed while reviewing them:
Slots
The pokies selection at Billy Bets is huge, and there are easily over 7,000 games in total to choose from! You’ll find everything from classic three-reel fruit machines to modern five-reel video slots with complex bonus features, Megaways mechanics, cluster pays, and progressive jackpots!
There’s an absolutely insanely large selection of game developers, too. The full list of providers includes:
ELA Games, Play’n GO, Pragmatic, Pragmatic Live, Microgaming, Playson, Gaming Corps, Swintt, Smartsoft, Mascot, Playpearls, Caleta, Kiron, BetGamesTV, G.Games, Apollo Games, Claw, FBM, 3 Oaks Gaming, Apparat, Bally Wulff, Spinberry, Revolver, Spinmatic, Penguin King, Onetouch, GameArt, Mega, Novomatic, Red Tiger, Onlyplay, Hacksaw Gaming, Spinomenal, Shady Lady, PatePlay, Amusnet, Tequity, Yggdrasil, Iconic 21, AvatarUX, BGaming, Gamebeat, BarbaraBang, Felix Gaming, Turbogames, Slotmill, Ruby Play, Kalamba, Booming Games, Reevo, Inout, Fugaso, Zillion, Betsoft, Aviator, Playnetic, Gamzix, Winfinity, Thunderkick, Game Time Tec, Popiplay, 1x2gaming, Amatic, Solidicon, Iron Dog, EGT Digital, Tom Horn, PlayHub, 7777 Gaming, Rogue, CT Interactive, Stakelogic, Digitain Virtual Sports, Galaxsys, Imagine Live, Rakerocket, Automat, 100HP, Hölle Games, Platipus, Tokacity, Hyperion Play, Quickspin, Aviatrix, SA Gaming, Just Slots, Games2lot, Top Gaming, Vivogaming, Endorphina, Riddec Games, The Better Platform, Spadegaming, Red Rake, Givme, Lucky Streak, Playmer, Enjoy Gaming, Blitzcrown, FreshVintage, Jacks, and Animo.
Live Games
This is where BillyBets does a really good job. Their live casino section is powered primarily by Evolution (previously Evolution Gaming), but you will also find titles from Pragmatic Play and Ezugi.
That means you’re getting HD streams, professional dealers, and the best live dealer games from around the world – and while writing this BillyBets Casino review, I played some Lightning Roulette and Funky time – two of my all-time favourites!
Both games gave me an excellent session (even if I didn’t win), and I didn’t encounter any lag or stream-drops. There’s tons of other game show titles like Crazy Time, Monopoly LIVE, and Dream Catcher, along with a huge variety of table and poker games.
Jackpots
Billy Bets has a dedicated jackpot section, and it’s accessed from the main navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you’ll see different categories, including Daily Jackpots, Hot Jackpots, New Jackpots, Drops & Wins, Lucky Jackpots, Jackpot Play, and All Jackpots.
I was pretty impressed with the selection on offer here, although I didn’t see any of the big-name jackpots like Mega Moolah or Divine Fortune. Some of the progressive jackpot pokies I did see included Fortune Avengers, Irish Wilds, Cheeky Fruits 6 Deluxe, Eastern Gold 6 Deluxe, and Sizzling Blaze Jackpot.
Payment Methods at Billy Bets Casino New Zealand
Billy Bets Casino offers a solid selection of payment methods, and you’ll find yourself able to use fiat-based options, along with cryptocurrencies. The full list of deposit methods includes: MasterCard, PaySafeCard, Skrill, Neteller, Cash2Code, Jetonbank, Ripple, BitcoinCash, BNB, Cardano, Litecoin, Solana, TRX, USDC, USDC Solano, USDT, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Bitcoin.
When it comes to withdrawals, Billy Bets offers a comprehensive selection, too, and you can withdraw using: VISA, Bank Transfer, Skrill, Neteller, Jeton, BitcoinCash, BNB, Cardano, Litecoin, Solana, TRX, USDC, USDT, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Bitcoin.
Now, the minimum deposit limit at Billy Bets Casino is on the higher side. It varies between NZ$20-NZ$40, which is a little high – but all deposit methods are fee-free, at least. The minimum withdrawal limit varies a lot depending on the payment method you choose, but VISA, Bank Transfer, and Neteller have a minimum of NZ$30, while Ripple has a minimum of NZ$60, and Litecoin and Cardano have a minimum of NZ$20. The max withdrawal limit also changes depending on method, but for most, it’s NZ$10,000, or not far off.
Withdrawals can be processed in as little as a few minutes, but sometimes it can take a couple of days if you’re using a fiat-based payment method. The time frame can also increase if you haven’t yet verified your account.
Customer Service at Billy Bets Casino Online Casino in New Zealand
Billy Bets offers 24/7 customer support via live chat and email – unfortunately, there’s no phone support, but this is becomming increasingly the norm these days, and, to be honest, it’s not really something I’m holding against them.
During my testing of the casino, live chat responses came through quickly, and the agents I dealt with were pleasant and knowledgeable. Still, I have seen a pattern in player reviews suggesting that some of the more complex queries – around detailed bonus terms or verification questions – can receive slower, more generic responses.
Security & Fairness
Whenever I review online casinos, I take care to look at the security and fairness measures in place. Here’s what I found for Billy Bets Casino:
License
Billy Bets Casino operates under a gaming license from Anjouan – one of the newer regulators in the iGaming world, that gained popularity after Curacao finally restructured their licensing framework.
I’ll be honest with you; Anjouan isn’t one of the strongest regulators, and it definitely doesn’t carry the same weight as, say, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) or the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC). Still, it’s not a red flag by itself – but just be aware that consumer protection levels definitely aren’t as good.
Company’s Background
Billy Bets NovaForge Ltd owns and operates Casino, and they launched in July 2024.
Security Measures
Billy Bets Casino uses industry-standard security to protect players. The site is secured with SSL encryption (you’ll see the padlock in your browser), meaning any data you send is encrypted – so this was good to see.
How Do Players Rate Billy Bets Casino?
Player feedback on Billy Bets Casino is genuinely quite mixed – and this is worth being upfront about. On TrustPilot, there are plenty of positive reviews discussing the large game selection, the welcome bonus, and the responsiveness of the VIP team. Some players talk about having a dedicated VIP account manager, etc.
However, I also found quite a few negative reviews talking about slow withdrawals, accounts being closed after winning, and difficulties having KYC documents verified.
My experience was largely positive – but I feel I have to point these out to you, so you get the full picture.
Is Billy Bets Casino Legit?
Billy Bets is a legitimate casino. It’s licensed, it has SSL encryption, and many players have successfully deposited, played, and withdrawn without any issues. That said, I’d place it in the “proceed with reasonable caution” category rather than giving it an unconditional green light.
The Anjouan licence isn’t something I’m overly happy to see, and there are definitely enough negative reviews online to warrant some degree of caution. Still, for me, I enjoyed my time playing there, and it’s likely somewhere I’ll visit again; if they process withdrawals quickly, I could even see it becomming a semi-regular place for me to play!
